Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of the DoseBeacon iOS application and website (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement where applicable.

DoseBeacon is an organizational tool for reminders and family coordination. It does not provide medical advice, does not recommend medications or dosages, does not diagnose conditions, and never decides whether a medication is safe. Information in the app is entered by you and your care circle and is not professionally verified. Always confirm medication decisions with a pharmacist or physician. Never rely solely on any app for critical care; in an emergency call your local emergency number.

A dose without a record is shown as “Not confirmed yet”. It may still have been taken. A logged dose is a report made by a person, not proof that a medicine was taken, and a caregiver's claim (“I'm handling this”) is not a record that a dose was given. Reminders depend on your device settings (notifications enabled, Focus, device powered on, volume audible) and may not be delivered in all circumstances. Family sharing requires an internet connection on each device and is not instant; shared information may be delayed or out of date. DoseBeacon is not a medical device and has not been reviewed or cleared by any regulator. Scanned label text is a draft that you must check; it can be wrong.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter, for keeping your circle code private, for only approving people who are authorized to see the patient's care information, and for revoking access that is no longer appropriate. You must have the person's consent, or the legal authority, required to manage their medication information.

DoseBeacon Family is an auto-renewing subscription: $8.99/month or $59.99/year (prices are localized by the App Store and shown before purchase; annual plans may include a 7-day free trial for eligible users). Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period — you can cancel anytime in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. When a subscription ends, your data is never deleted: existing reminders, Senior Mode, full history, reports, the emergency card and free-plan features keep working. Senior Mode never shows purchase screens.

Don't misuse the Service: no unauthorized access attempts, no interference with other circles, no use of the Service to harass or coerce anyone, and no reverse engineering except where permitted by law.

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, DoseBeacon and its creators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any harm arising from missed, delayed or duplicated medication doses, inaccurate entries, notification failures, or reliance on the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months before the claim.

You can stop using the Service anytime; deleting the app removes on-device data. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms. Sections that by their nature survive termination (disclaimers, limitations) survive.

We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use after changes means acceptance. Questions: ran.gray.james@gmail.com.
