Count what's actually on hand, then divide by the number of units used per day according to the label. That gives an approximate number of days. It assumes every scheduled dose is used and nothing is lost, so treat it as an estimate and recount regularly.
Pharmacies and insurers have their own rules about how early a refill can be filled. Ask your pharmacy how much notice they need and set a reminder with enough margin.
