Reported, not assumed
Each dose shows who reported it, when and from which device. Unreported doses say “Not confirmed yet”.
Sync status you can trust
“Updated 8:12 AM” is always visible. After 10 minutes without an update the app says the data may be out of date.
Dose Handshake
Tap “I'm handling this” so siblings know. It shows as a claim, never as the dose being given.
Conflicts surface
Two reports for one dose? It's flagged “Needs review”. Nothing is merged silently, and no extra dose is ever suggested.
You approve who joins
A circle code only sends a request. You approve it, choose a role, and can revoke access at any time.

What good family coordination looks like
MedlinePlus's caregiver resources and its guidance on taking multiple medicines point to the same basics: an up-to-date list of every medicine, reviewing it with pharmacists and providers, and staying organized. With several helpers, the extra step is agreeing who does what and keeping one record rather than several memories.

How do I organize my parent's medications with my siblings?
Start with one written, dated list checked against the labels. Agree who is responsible for each dose time and each refill. Use one shared record so everyone can see what's been reported, and agree that when records disagree you'll pause and check, not give another dose. Is DoseBeacon's family dashboard live?
Not instantly. Each phone shares new reports once it has a connection and the server confirms them, and caregiver phones refresh when opened, when pulled down, and periodically while open. Every screen shows when it last updated so you know how current it is.
Can I see if Mom took her pills?
You can see what was reported on her phone, such as “Reported taken at 8:04 AM”, once it syncs. A report isn't proof a medicine was swallowed, and DoseBeacon never claims otherwise.
Will I get an alert if a dose isn't confirmed?
Caregiver Mode can show an optional follow-up notification on your phone when a dose is still not confirmed after a delay you choose. It depends on your phone having synced and on notification settings, so it isn't guaranteed and isn't an emergency alert.
What do helpers need?
An iPhone or iPad with DoseBeacon installed and an internet connection to share. The free plan includes 1 helper; DoseBeacon Family adds more.
